WELCOME TO THE ALGERNON TRUST

Homes urgently needed now!

Sasha who has just come in aged 16 (!!!!) needs a home
because her elderly owners have had to go into residential care.  I
took her in on Saturday (6 Feb) and had to put her into an outdoor
kennel poor old lady but it was that or she would have had to be put
to sleep.

This is Woody; he was found on Sunday night (Jan 10) tied to a tree
in a wood on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.  A man walking his dog
found him by chance and took him to my friend Margaret of the Ark
Wildlife Hospital in Milton Keynes who rang me and brought Woody
here.  He was eating snow when found and was very hungry and
thirsty.  I took him to the vet on Monday and discovered he is
microchipped but the contact details were out of date and the lady in
London who used to own him had given him to a friend who passed him
and a little staffy cross bitch to a man living in Milton Keynes.
Woody isn't even two years old and has already had two homes.  He is
a bull mastiff x labrador and has a lovely temperament and used to
live with cats and children.
I am appealing for a foster home for him so he can be looked after
indoors where he will put weight on quicker than being in one of my
outdoor kennels.  He is a well-behaved loving boy who will have to be
neutered when he is stronger but his vaccinations are up to date and
I have wormed him.

Tazz is probably a husky cross; he is under a year old and needs an
experienced home with no young children (he is very boisterous and
big).  He has a lovely, friendly disposition, knows basic commands
but must go to training classes.  Tazz seems fine with other dogs and
only a very special home will do for him or his fosterer won't let
him go!  He is currently in Milton Keynes and we want to find a local
home for him.  He will be castrated, micro-chipped and vaccinated
before going to a new home.
Caesar is about to be taken in by the Trust as he would otherwise be
put to sleep.  He is 11 months old and a mastiff cross.  Caesar is
very friendly and seems fine with other dogs.  It isn't known whether
he is cat friendly.  Caesar needs to go to a home with experience of
large breeds and with no young children as he is a big young boy.  I
am desperately in need of a foster home for him initially so he can
be assessed as he went into a pound in Buckinghamshire as a stray.
He is chipped and vaccinated and will be catrated before going to a
new home.

KC is a young lab x collie who is waiting to come into the Trust's
care from London.  I need a foster home for her so she can be
assessed properly before bring re-homed.  She has to come in very
soon as her current owner is moving away and cannot take her with him.
Max needs a foster home with someone experienced with Jack Russells
with issues!  Max will be 3 years old in May and will have to be
neutered before I can re-home him.  He doesn't like other dogs though
he has lived with another JRT and was fine with him.  He has a
tendency to run off but is very friendly and loving with humans.  I
have nowhere at the Sanctuary for him because he could not be trusted
with cats or poultry but Max deserves a chance and I and the lady who
rescued him but cannot keep him feel he will make a lovely companion
in the right environment after some patient training.  He is very
intelligent.

About two years old, this lady would suit an outdoor home or very
patient cat lovers.
